“ Purposeful, timeless gardens with a focus
on beauty in all seasons, attracting
pollinators, supported by
dreamy structural planting.”
For the love of flowers, pollinators, and
soil. Sustainable gardening practices taught
and encouraged, no-till gardening, feeding
and protecting our soil, composting,
planting cover crops, no chemicals,
no pesticides. Growing a vegetable
garden is encouraged.
The better we treat our soil, the better
the world will be.
Working with what you have
to enhance your surroundings, with
beautiful, dreamy, purposeful, plantings.
We bring the ideas you do the planting.
This is
The Velvet Bee.
Growing up on a small farm in Idaho, with a mother artist who loved beauty, and a father who loved animals I found my place amongst the farmland roaming free with cows, tadpoles, bees, butterflies, horses, flowers, and a loyal dog.
In 2017 The Velvet Bee was launched for my love of formal gardens and pollinators. Designing sustainable gardens with timeless beauty, dreamy structural planting, boxwood, knot gardens, parterres, topiary, espalier trees, flowers & drawing pollinators to the garden.
We have three programs available where your donation will support a beehive at The Velvet Bee for one season and entitle you to receive regular reports, pictures, of your hive and bees, plus honey depending on the program you choose in the year 2023. Please see hamburger icon for all details.
Creating a rich and beautiful environment, encouraging landowners and beekeepers everywhere to reinvigorate their natural surroundings, by planting a diversity of pollinator forage species, organic gardening, and creating pesticide free healthy soil, these are excellent steps toward creating a more sustainable world for honeybees and all life to live in.”
